Dragon City is a free, social network game developed by Social Point which was launched for play on Facebook on May 8, 2012 and for download on iOS in 2013.^[1][2] In August 2014 the aforementioned developer made the game available for download on Intel Atom tablets for Android.^[3] The game targets mid-core players, allowing them to raise their own dragons and create a Dragon City on floating islands. In December 2012 The Next Web ran an article announcing that Dragon City was ranked #2 in Facebook's 25 top rated games that year.^[4]Dragon City can be connected with Facebook (giving players a reward of the Elements dragon and 10 Gems, an in-game currency used to purchase dragons and other items).

Gameplay[edit]

The game lets players breed, hatch, and raise dragons. The dragon generate gold which can be used to buy farms and habitats. The farms let players exchange the gold for food. The food all looks like tomatoes, and feeding a dragon allows it to level up. Leveling up dragons allows them to generate more gold. A dragon must be at level 4 in order to breed. A dragon's level also determines how much life and power the dragon has in Arenas, Leagues, and Quests, which are different kinds of battles where three of a player's dragons battle three of another player's dragons. Leagues, however, allow you to use any combination of dragons, including only one or two, assuming they have reached at least level 4. Also, Arenas and Quests may have extra requirements, such as elements or rarity. Once a player has reached the player level 27, the Ancient World appears, which is an area of the game where the gold can be exchanged for gemstones that can be used to summon ancient dragons. Gemstones are then crafted using platinum, which is generated by the Ancient Dragons similarly to how the regular dragons generate gold. Gems are another in-game currency that can be earned by buying them with real-world money, beating all of the opponents in a League, having a collection of dragons from the dragon book, from leveling up as a player, checking the calendar, participating in events, and more. When in a battle dragons can have a ability for a stronger hit, depending on the elements. They can also have weak or no damage.

How do I breed my Dragons?

To breed your dragons, you have to choose a different category of dragons and breed them in the Breeding Mountain. For example, you have a Flame Dragon and a Terra dragon, and you wanted to obtain a dragon that has both Flame and Terra abilities, then breed them! But before breeding them, it is required that your dragon must be fully grown to at least Level 4 growth. If not, then continue feeding them until they reach a certain maturity before breeding your dragons. It is also important to note that not all of the dragons can be bred. If the dragons are obtained from special events or sale, they cannot be bred with other normal dragons.

How long does it take to breed a dragon?

It really depends on the dragons you are breeding and the elements that they have. They can be as short as 15 seconds. Some of the breeding time takes around 4-5 hours. Others are reported to take as long as 82 hours! So it really can’t be defined with a certain hour. All you have to do is to be patient or if you can’t then you can use up your gems!
